HIGH FIVE FRIDAY

last
1. Dew It
I love Nasty Gal for multiple obvious reasons but this week especially I felt all warm and fuzzy inside when I stumbled upon their beauty tutorial for dewy, model like skin. Who wouldn't want to look like a fresh as a daisy catwalk dweller? The good news is it's actually pretty simple to fake that "I woke up like this" appearance. Make-up extraordinaire Gloria Noto shows you how here.

2. Transition Metal
Thanks to Shea Marie (Peace, Love, Shea) and the Coveteur I am now not only obsessed with Barbara Bui but also metallic footwear. Forget black leather this Autumn I'm stalking eBay for the shiniest boots I can find.

3. Neon
I've recently just decided that for my home office to be fully functional it needs must have a neon sign ala Courtney Arcese's boss lady behind Love + Brain Films. Now all I have to do is decide on my choice of words...

4. Blondie
I'm a huuuuge chocolate fan (ok borderline chocoholic) but this week I had the most insane craving for not brownies but blondies. Having only made them one time previous I wasn't sure if I could satisfy my hankering but after checking out a few recipes's online they were in the oven and in my mouth without much time wasted at all. I had to alter the recipe slightly to make it gluten/wheat free but I found this recipe via Handle The Heat delicious.
How will you change your perspective?
5. Quote of the week
Don't regret what has past. If you have to reflect, evaluate and sleep on it then go ahead but at least give yourself the courtesy of a fresh start in the wake of a new day.

I've been a huuuuge fan of Jolin Snijders for the longest time and it's actually on my dream "to do" list to get the opportunity to work with her someday but enough about my future goals and more about this ridiculously epic editorial she shot for the August issue of Elle Netherlands

Stylist Lisa Anne Stuyfzand worked wonders creating effortlessly charismatic outfits whilst model Eleonora Baumann was just the right amount of icing on the overall awesomely delightful fashion flavoured cake.  Yum!

SUMMER ESSENTIALS : ROAD TRIP

What's Hot: Summer Essentials

HAT: Let's be honest anyone who can survive a road trip with perfect hair is either A. superhuman or B. a hat wearer. I'd bet money on the latter. Truth be told travelling without a hat is just plain idiotic. I love this particular style from River Island as it would pretty much go with any outfit for day or night which when packing for the road can be a godsend.

SKIRT: When I want to be comfortable I tend to wear a non restricting skirt. I know it may not be favoured over denim cut off's or sweatpants but for a summer roadtrip I don't think you can go wrong with a simple, denim A-line skirt. It will keep you cool and still cute enough to hang out at your refreshment stops.

SUNGLASSES: Sleep induced puffy eyes? Mascara free? Sunglasses will hide multiple road trip inconveniences and I think this pair from Asos has the perfect tint and style to make you appear more glamorous than you likely are after a few hours on the road.

BOOTS: It's true to say I've never met a leopard print that I didn't like but whilst I won't let this cloud my judgement these Tabitha Simmons booties are just begging to be taken on a roadtrip. Say no to predicable high top sneakers and yes to ankle boots that will pretty much work with anything in your travel bag.

TOTE: Water, check, cash, check, make-up bag, check, snacks, check. The list could go on am I right? Whenever I think of hitting the road for a summer vacation I always think about my travel bag and whether I can fit as much as possible into it or not. If the answers no, then I'll go back to the drawing board and find one that can accommodate my luggage needs better. This tote from Monki is not only super cute (who likes rules?) but it's also big enough to fit all my travel treasures that are must haves whilst on transit.

TANK: The Row label signifies simplicity and relaxed vibes which are the main component's your travel outfit should include. A hassle free tank is the ideal top to wear during summer and especially on roadtrips where the weather can be often unpredictable. Not only will it keep you fresh when the heat rises but when things turn a little cooler, just pop on a sweatshirt and it makes an ideal base for layering.

Happy mid week lovelies!

INTERIOR DESIGN | SIMPLE LIVING

The of simplistic way of living appeals to me greatly. My current space only needs to get ever so slightly cluttered and I can feel it affect my mood and train of thought immediately. It's incredible that your surroundings can have that certain side effect to your daily life. I'm also aware that I hoard ridiculous amounts of rubbish that technically lead to this disruption but let's just say it's currently a work in progress of filtering.

Hope you all have a great Tuesday!

Oh boy did stylist Teruyo Mori do good for this editorial in the September issue of Spur magazine shot by Amanda Pratt and featuring model Louise Parker.

Cannot get over how perfect every item of wardrobe is, that sixth dress down is potentially what dreams are made of, no?

Happy Monday!

Let's grab this week by the horns shall we?

MY SO CALLED LIFE

+ stained glass get's me everytime. It blows my mind to think that so much beauty can be contained in a windowpane.
+ her little face is just too much cuteness to take sometimes and the fact she hates her photo getting taken kills me but she allowed just this one.
+ I don't think I would ever get bored of waking up to this morning light.
+ finally after reading the book I got to see the movie with my sister this week #thefaultinourstars
+ when it rains and then the sun comes out and you realise moving from your bed is the last thing you want to do.
+ impromptu night visits to ikea are sometimes just what the doctor ordered, especially when the roads are so quiet it feels like you're the only one in the city.
+ gluten free banana cinnamon pancakes are what Sundays were made for.
+ you don't always have to step outside to find a rainbow.
+ having fun playing with sprinkles and planning a future tutorial for the blog.

Happy Sunday darlings!
