THE MYSTERY WAS GONE

I'm a huge fan of Anais Pouliot and Russh magazine so naturally this editorial from the latest June/July issue was ten out of ten for being visually pleasing to the eye. Can we please just take a moment to appreciate how epic that head shot is........and we're done.

Heading out to style a shoot this afternoon, so just packing up wardrobe as I type. Have an epic Thursday dudes!

LICENSED KITTY

LICENSED KITTY

TOPSHOP QUILTED BOMBER | TOPSHOP QUILTED SHORTS | NASTY GAL SUNGLASSES | KATE SPADE CLUTCH | CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN SANDALS

Although the British weather is currently non existent (and will continue to be so) I can't help but be drawn to light summer toned coloured pieces, like this Topshop quilted aqua suit. I'm not usually one for too much colour but something tells me this outfit would fit nicely alongside a Californian backdrop. Anyone care for a roadtrip?

I styled an epic shoot yesterday with possibly the cutest model ever. The only down side to this is that the images won't be published until later this summer. Booooo!

Have a great Wednesday lovelies!

DANIELLE ROMERIL A/W'13

I came across an interview with Irish fashion designer Danielle Romeril last week and just had to share her latest A/W'13 collection. She's definitely a woman after my own heart after stating that she designs for the girl who dresses "to show off her thoughts not her assets". Her Autumn/Winter collection was inspired by a trip to Paris and an encounter with some local skateboarders, this progressed onto the creation of Romeril's very own girl skate gang worthy pieces.

Thoughts?

Happy Monday!

SWEET TREAT SUNDAY | CHOCOLATE PANCAKES

With today being Father's day I had been for the majority of this week investigating appropriate ways to incorporate chocolate into a breakfast for my dad (he's a huge chocoholic) Aside from the usual toast saturated in layers of Nutella, I wanted to create a treat that was special and would essentially get people talking at the breakfast table. It seemed chocolate pancakes were what I was looking for and not just any kind of chocolate pancakes, for my old man it had to be pancakes with chocolate sauce, strawberries and banana.

**Please Note: These stacked delights are also very appropriate for an evening dessert and can also be made with Gluten free flour.**

Let's get started...

Serves 12 pancakes | To prepare 20 mins | To cook 2 mins

Ingredients

Pancakes
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/3 cup light-brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup low-fat buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 1/2 Tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • butter for griddle, if needed
  • fresh strawberry and banana slices
Chocolate Sauce
  • 8 oz. chocolate chips (use what you prefer, milk chocolate, semi-sweet or bittersweet)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
Method

Pancakes
  • Preheat an electric griddle to 350 degrees F ( 180 degrees C)
  • In a mixing bowl whisk together granulated sugar and cocoa until well combined. Stir in light-brown sugar followed flour, baking soda and salt.
  • Make a well in centre of dry mixture and set aside. In a separate mixing bowl whisk together milk, buttermilk, eggs, vegetable oil and vanilla.
  • Pour wet mixture into dry mixture and whisk to blend (don't over mix, batter should still have some lumps).
  • Butter griddle if necessary, pour batter onto preheated griddle 1/4 cup at a time and slightly spread batter in a circular form outward (so the centres aren't so much thicker than edges) and allow to cook until bubbles begin to appear on the surface, about 1 minute.
  • Then carefully flip to pancake to opposite side and cook until done. Serve warm topped with chocolate sauce, strawberries and bananas.
Chocolate Sauce
  • Place chocolate chips in a medium heat proof bowl.
  • Bring heavy cream just to a gentle boil in a small saucepan over medium heat.
  • Pour hot cream over chocolate chips and stir until chocolate has melted.
  • Note that chocolate sauce will thicken as it cools, also if you want a thinner consistency you can add a few more tbsp hot cream.
  • Reheat as needed in a bowl over a pan of simmering water.

Enjoy!

Hope everyone has something nice and relaxing planned for today? I have a big shoot tomorrow so I'm taking advantage of the calm before the storm, so to speak...

MARKUS LUPFER RESORT 2014

***WARNING***- This post is extremely long due to the incapability to not feature every single piece of this Resort collection....

I know, I know this post is super long, but in all fairness I did pre warn you and do you blame me? The latest resort collection from Mr Markus Lupfer is what I'm pretty sure dreams are made of. For me the stand out pieces are the plaid babydoll, the black and silver disc shift style dress and any piece that features a zipper. I'm going to start up a ML fan club this afternoon, anyone care to join me? I believe it to be long overdue.

Thoughts?

Enjoy your Saturday lovelies!
